Welcome to the California Fire Chiefs Association (CFCA)! We’re excited to have you join our statewide network of fire service professionals. Registration and renewals for the 26/27 membership year will open June 1, 2026.

Important Reminder for Fire Chiefs – Section Memberships

If you are purchasing section memberships for your team (e.g., EMS, Ops, Training Officers, etc.), please make sure to complete the second step: assigning each section membership to the correct individual(s) within your department.

To do so, please email a list of section members’ names and email addresses to calchiefs@calchiefs.org to ensure proper setup and access.

  • If the individual already has a profile in the system, we will update their account accordingly.
  • If the individual does not have a profile, you must send them the Sub-Account Direct Link found in your organization’s profile so they can create one.

*** After renewing or creating your account, please follow the steps outlined in the 'Sub-account 101' flyer to initiate the creation of profiles for the individuals in your organization for whom you have purchased accounts.

Membership Dues Structure:

Volunteer Fire Districts may be eligible for free CFCA membership through the BAER Safer Grant. Find more information here.

Membership Updates:

We’ve updated our dues structure to provide more value and simplify the renewal process. Highlights include:

  • Agencies can now renew all CFCA section memberships on a single invoice, including CalChiefs dues.
  • Fire Chiefs can designate non-voting memberships for their command staff (Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief, Fire Marshal, or equivalent) at no extra cost.
  • These changes are designed to help maximize benefits and participation across your entire leadership team.

*Please note that under the bylaws change the Fire Chief will still be the voting designee for the agency.
