The California Fire Chiefs Association (CFCA) established and approved the establishment of the California Fire Chiefs Association Hall of Fame (HOF) in 2023. The HOF is designed to honor a Fire Chiefs lifetime achievement having served the California Fire Service and contributing to its improvement. The award ceremony would be part of the CFCA annual conference, and a class of inductees would be honored each year.

Submission criteria would include serving at the rank of Fire Chief and for improvements for the California Fire Service, outside of the normal duties of fire chief (County level contributions, State level contributions, National level contributions).
