Nathan Cooke is a Deputy Chief at the Chino Valley Fire District and currently serves as the Interim Director of CONFIRE. He has been a public servant for the last 25-years and has served in every safety position, including the position of Fire Chief.
Nathan has a master’s degree in Public Administration, with an emphasis in Emergency Management. Nathan currently serves on the State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) Strategic Planning Advisory Committee and is also a member
the California Fire Service Behavioral Health Task Force. He holds both national and state certificates as an Executive Fire Chief. Director Cooke also maintains a California teaching credential.

David is a second-generation Berkeley firefighter and third generation Berkeley resident. He was hired by the BFD as a firefighter/paramedic in 2001 and has served as paramedic supervisor, apparatus operator, special operations lieutenant, training captain,
captain, assistant fire chief of training and EMS, deputy fire chief and fire chief. He was an active member of US&R Task Force 4 and deployed to Katrina, served as director, secretary, and president of IAFF Local 1227 cumulatively for 15 years, was
President of Fire Nuggets, Inc. for six years (a national non-profit dedicated to fire service training) and has been an active in pushing the Department to be progressive, innovative and employee centric for his whole career.
