CFCA is pleased to present the finalized 2023 Slate of Officers, which includes a Southern President-Elect and the Southern Director. We invited interested individuals to step forward and fill these important positions, and we are proud to announce the
appointments of Chief Brian Fennessy as the President-Elect and Chief Bernard Molloy as the Southern Director.
Chief Brian Fennessy, currently the Fire Chief of the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA), will be assuming the role of President Elect-elect for the California Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Fennessy has an extensive background in fire services, beginning his career with the United States Forest Service (USFS) in 1978. He has since
held various leadership positions, including Chief of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department in 2015 and Fire Chief of the Orange County Fire Authority in 2018. With a team of over 1,800 firefighters and non-sworn personnel under his guidance, Chief
Fennessy has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the fire service.
Chief Bernard Molloy, who has served in the fire service
for the past 25 years, will be assuming the role of Southern Director for the California Fire Chiefs Association. Chief Molloy has an impressive track record, having worked his way up through the ranks at the Lakeside Fire Protection District before
becoming the Fire Chief of Murrieta Fire & Rescue in 2022. Throughout his career, he has focused on EMS, training, and fire department operations, actively contributing to various
committees and organizations in San Diego County. Chief Molloy's commitment to collaboration and industry-wide progress makes him an invaluable addition to the CFCA leadership team.
We are delighted to welcome Chief Fennessy and Chief Molloy to their new positions, and we look forward to their swearing-in on October 17, 2023, at our annual conference in Ontario. Their extensive expertise and dedication to the CFCA's mission of strengthening
and advocating for the California Fire Service will undoubtedly contribute to the association's ongoing success.
The California Fire Service is humbled and grateful that both Chief Fennessy and Chief Molloy have volunteered to embrace the CFCA Mission of "strengthening and advocating for the California Fire Service through leadership, unity, and collaboration" with
their unwavering commitment to CFCA.
